About Padi
So how did Patty become “Padi”? Sitting around a table one night she and her Aussie friends decided her work needed some “spice” in the signing of her work; they didn’t like “PB”. Everyone got busy creating logos on napkins and one Bloke came up with “Padi”. He looked at her and said, “That is how you pronounce your name…you never say paTTy, you say Padi”. So, that is how Padi Custom Ceramics came to be.
Last year Padi launched four exciting collections: the Welcome Home Collection, featuring pineapples; the Tradewinds Collection, featuring all things beach; the Vegetable Medley Collection, featuring fruits and vegetables; and the Dots Galore Collection, featuring her custom dinner-ware. This year, Padi introduced the Legacy Plate, through which an old family recipe becomes a keepsake heirloom by placing that recipe on a serving piece for the entire family to treasure. Imagine giving Grandma’s cookie recipe to each of the children for a very special “keepsake”. Each piece is unique and hand-painted with style.
Patty believes to be healthy person you need to have balance: spiritually, mentally and physically. She tries to work on each of those everyday even if it’s for just a few minutes at a time. Her work gives her the time to meditate and tune into her creative side which she believes came from her mother. Almost every piece Patty paints is finished on the outside. Her Mom taught her the “back of the dress is more important than the front: you want the last vision of you to make a statement, one people won’t forget!” She applies that same theory to her work and someone always comments on it! It makes her smile and think of her Mom every time!
Padi puts great care and attention to detail into every originally designed, hand-painted and glazed piece. Individual pieces or sets are available and can be personalized by design and inscription. Padi Custom Ceramics make the perfect gift for clients, employees, friends and family and are ideal for sporting functions such as golf, tennis and football events. Her pieces are great for special occasions such as weddings, showers, birthdays and more! Padi is currently showing her work from her home, fine art shows and home parties. If you’re interested in having the girls over for a fun gathering, please consider opening your home for a “Padi Party!”. |
